Day 5

We had a morning meeting introducing the teachers today. I walk through this square about everyday. This is what it looks like during the day. I finally got stuff done today with my schedule and planning my trips for this semester. My friends and I have decided to go to Madrid to Portugal, Pyrenees mountains to Paris, and 9 days in Italy. Looking forward to what the future may hold. We went shopping for food and i now have a slight disgust in eating fish. My roomate is Aleesia. She is the best roomate since she already knew that the best way to my heart is through my stomach. She definitely brought the best snacks!

Day 4

Went to the beach all day and then proceeded to a professional soccer game. It was great! The drummer boys play fight songs the whole time and everyone had intense enthusiasm for their favorite team. The stadiums were super steep with a million stairs but it held a million people with every seat full. We walked 11 miles today. Going to bed early at 2:30.

Day 3

Woke up at 2 from my long night out. Went and got groceries to stock the kitchen. I'm currently living off of ramen and prepackaged sports drinks. My lunch consisted of olives and bad ramen. I think that feeding myself may be one of the hardest challenges since I can't cook to save my life. My friends and I went to the beach to do Zumba. We got on the wrong tram and were late to Zumba but it was definitely still a workout. Playa del Malvarossa is the most popular beach in Valencia. There was a long walk way along the water with restaurants. My friends made me dinner since I'm trying to learn how to actually cook for myself. We went out for Gelato and then walked around. My friend Britney and I walked around since we're not big drinkers and the normal thing is to hit the bars at 1 and get wasted until 7 in the morning. We walked around until 3 in the morning but got lost on the opposite side of town. Britney told me that we walked out 10,00 steps for the day in just 2 in a half hours of being lost. We finally gave up and just called a cab. I was gonna try and go to sleep early but it's definitely easier to stay up late in Spain. Another challenge that I notice is that sharing dorms with other people means that people come back from the clubs super late and are loud. Still hoping for a good nights rest.

Day 2

My new group of friends explored the park across the street. We had a tour of where the grocery store and mall was. The FSU staff gave us the lay down of the rules and customs that are expected to be followed. I experienced my first Siesta where everyone and basically the whole town shuts down to rest between 2-5 and then reopens for the evening. Little did I know that my nap was right before and when I woke up everything was closed so I basically just skipped lunch against my will. My lesson was definitely learned to eat before the Siesta. We walked 9 miles today!!! That's crazy. I walk up 4 flights of stairs multiple times a day so hopefully I will have super toned legs. I splurged tonight and got steak! Totally worth it! I'm definitely getting used to the time because it is currently 4 in the morning and people are still at the clubs like it's totally normal.

First Night

Placa del Verg is the center of the town where there was a concert of traditional spanish dance. Met some new people that are awesome . It was 10:30 when the concert started. Still getting used to having such an intense night life.
