I had originally planned on going to Portugal with a travel buddy but she got sick so I ended up having to meet my other friends in Portugal who were arriving 4 hours earlier. I started the commute by waiting at the wrong bus stop to take me to the Madrid airport which almost caused me to miss my flight. Once I arrived to Lisbon I had a hard time finding my friends. Once we were all together, we went to the Airbnb. The Airbnb was not very nice nor was it close to downtown with a 45 minute travel time by metro. The neighborhood of the Airbnb was completely local with no tourists. That's why the poor neighborhood felt a bit unsafe during the evening. The touristy areas were great though. I had really great food and enjoyed watching bad pick picketers attempt to steal and get caught in the act. I love the tourist part of Portugal even though it's not that touristy compared to other European countries.
